Message to Sardis
“To the angel of the church in A Sardis write:
He who has Bthe seven Spirits of God and Cthe seven stars, says this: ‘DI know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, 1but you are E dead.  ‘Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God.  ‘So A remember 1 what you have received and heard; and keep it, and A repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, AI will come B like a thief, and you will not know at C what hour I will come to you.  ‘But you have a few 1 A people in B Sardis who have not C soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me Din white, for they are worthy.  ‘AHe who overcomes will thus be clothed in B white garments; and I will not C erase his name from the book of life, and DI will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.  ‘AHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

B
The Amen, Cthe faithful and true Witness, Dthe 1 Beginning of the creation of God, says this:
15  AI know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; BI wish that you were cold or hot. 16   ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will 1 spit you out of My mouth. 17   ‘Because you say, “AI am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18  I advise you to A buy from Me B gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and C white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that Dthe shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19   ‘A Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and B repent. 20   ‘Behold, I stand Aat the door and B knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, CI will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21   ‘AHe who overcomes, I will grant to him Bto sit down with Me on My throne, as CI also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22   ‘AHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
