25
1 LORD, you are my God;
I will exalt you and give thanks to your name, for you have done wonders, plans from long ago in perfect faithfulness.
2 For you have made a city a heap, a fortified town a ruin;
the palace of foreigners is no longer a city.
It will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore a strong people will honor you;
the city of ruthless nations will fear you.
4 For you have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in distress, a refuge from the storm and shade from the heat.
For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall.
5 Like heat in a dry land, you subdue the uproar of foreigners;
like heat in the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.

6 On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of aged wine, rich food full of marrow, well-strained aged wine.
7 On this mountain he will swallow up the covering cast over all peoples, the veil spread over all nations.
8 He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces.
He will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.

9 In that day it will be said, “Behold, this is our God;
we have waited for him, and he will save us.
This is the LORD;
we have waited for him.
Let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
10 For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain, but Moab will be trampled in his place, as straw is trampled in a dung heap.
11 He will spread out his hands in it as a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim, but he will bring down his pride along with the skill of his hands.
12 The fortification of your high walls he will bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, to the dust.
