Jude
1
1 Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to those who are called, loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: 2 May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. 3 Beloved, while making every effort to write to you about the salvation we share, I found it necessary to write urging you to contend earnestly for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have slipped in unnoticed, whose condemnation was written about long ago. They are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into debauchery and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. 5 Now I want to remind you, though you already know all this, that Jesus, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe, 6 and the angels who did not keep their own position of authority but left their own dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloom for the judgment of the great day. 7 Likewise Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, which in the same way as these indulged in sexual immorality and went after different flesh, serve as an example, undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. 8 Yet these dreamers likewise defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme glorious beings. 9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare bring a blasphemous judgment against him, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you.” 10 But these blaspheme whatever they do not know, and they are destroyed by what they understand by instinct, like irrational animals. 11 Woe to them! For they have walked in the way of Cain, rushed into Balaam's error for pay, and perished in Korah's rebellion. 12 These are reefs at your love feasts, feasting with you, shepherding themselves without fear; waterless clouds swept along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, uprooted; 13 wild waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved forever. 14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about these, saying, “Look, the Lord has come with tens of thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment against all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” 16 These are grumblers and faultfinders, following their own desires. Their mouths speak arrogant words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They were telling you, “In the last time there will be scoffers following their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, unspiritual, not having the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire, and have mercy on others with fear, hating even the tunic stained by the flesh.
24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before his glory with great joy,
25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
