13
1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and said, 2 “When someone has a swelling, a rash, or a bright spot in the skin of his body that develops into a lesion of skin disease, he must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons, the priests. 3 The priest shall examine the lesion in the skin of his body. If the hair in the lesion has turned white and the lesion appears deeper than the skin of his body, it is a lesion of skin disease. The priest shall examine him and declare him unclean. 4 But if the bright spot in the skin of his body is white, does not appear deeper than the skin, and its hair has not turned white, the priest shall isolate the affected person for seven days. 5 On the seventh day the priest shall examine him. If the lesion appears unchanged in his sight and has not spread in the skin, the priest shall isolate him for another seven days. 6 On the seventh day the priest shall examine him again. If the lesion has faded and has not spread in the skin, the priest shall declare him clean; it is a rash. He must wash his clothes, and he shall be clean. 7 But if the rash spreads in the skin after he has appeared before the priest for his cleansing, he must appear before the priest again. 8 The priest shall examine him. If the rash has spread in the skin, the priest shall declare him unclean; it is skin disease.
9 When someone has a lesion of skin disease, he must be brought to the priest. 10 The priest shall examine him. If there is a white swelling in the skin that has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling, 11 it is a longstanding skin disease in the skin of his body. The priest shall declare him unclean. He shall not isolate him, because he is unclean. 12 But if the skin disease breaks out in the skin and covers all the affected person's skin from head to foot, as far as the priest can see, 13 the priest shall examine him. If the skin disease has covered his whole body, he shall declare the affected person clean. He has turned entirely white; he is clean. 14 But whenever raw flesh appears on him, he shall be unclean. 15 The priest shall examine the raw flesh and declare him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean; it is skin disease. 16 Or if the raw flesh changes and turns white, he must come to the priest. 17 The priest shall examine him. If the lesion has turned white, the priest shall declare the affected person clean; he is clean.
18 When someone has a boil in the skin of his body and it heals, 19 but a white swelling or a reddish-white bright spot appears where the boil was, he must appear before the priest. 20 The priest shall examine it. If it appears lower than the skin and its hair has turned white, the priest shall declare him unclean. It is a lesion of skin disease that has broken out in the boil. 21 But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in it, it is not lower than the skin, and it has faded, the priest shall isolate him for seven days. 22 If it spreads in the skin, the priest shall declare him unclean; it is a lesion. 23 But if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, it is the scar of the boil. The priest shall declare him clean.
24 Or when someone has a burn from fire in the skin of his body, and the raw flesh of the burn becomes a reddish-white or white bright spot, 25 the priest shall examine it. If the hair in the bright spot has turned white and it appears deeper than the skin, it is skin disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest shall declare him unclean; it is a lesion of skin disease. 26 But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in the bright spot, it is not lower than the skin, and it has faded, the priest shall isolate him for seven days. 27 On the seventh day the priest shall examine him. If it spreads in the skin, the priest shall declare him unclean; it is a lesion of skin disease. 28 But if the bright spot stays in its place, has not spread in the skin, and has faded, it is a swelling from the burn. The priest shall declare him clean, for it is the scar of the burn.
29 When a man or a woman has a lesion on the head or in the beard, 30 the priest shall examine the lesion. If it appears deeper than the skin and has fine yellow hair in it, the priest shall declare the person unclean. It is a scaly eruption, a skin disease of the head or beard. 31 But if the priest examines the lesion of the scaly eruption and it does not appear deeper than the skin and has no black hair in it, the priest shall isolate the person with the scaly eruption for seven days. 32 On the seventh day the priest shall examine the lesion. If the scaly eruption has not spread, has no yellow hair in it, and does not appear deeper than the skin, 33 the person must shave, but must not shave the scaly eruption. The priest shall isolate the person with the scaly eruption for another seven days. 34 On the seventh day the priest shall examine the scaly eruption. If it has not spread in the skin and does not appear deeper than the skin, the priest shall declare the person clean. He must wash his clothes, and he shall be clean. 35 But if the scaly eruption spreads in the skin after his cleansing, 36 the priest shall examine him. If the scaly eruption has spread in the skin, the priest need not look for yellow hair; he is unclean. 37 But if the scaly eruption appears unchanged in his sight and black hair has grown in it, the scaly eruption is healed. He is clean, and the priest shall declare him clean.
38 When a man or a woman has bright spots in the skin of the body, white bright spots, 39 the priest shall examine them. If the bright spots in the skin of the body are dull white, it is a harmless eruption that has broken out in the skin; the person is clean.
40 If a man loses the hair on his head, he is bald; he is clean. 41 If he loses the hair at the front of his head, he is bald at the forehead; he is clean. 42 But if a reddish-white lesion appears on the bald head or bald forehead, it is skin disease breaking out on the bald head or bald forehead. 43 The priest shall examine him. If the swelling of the lesion on his bald head or bald forehead is reddish-white, like the appearance of skin disease in the skin of the body, 44 he is a man with skin disease; he is unclean. The priest must declare him unclean; his lesion is on his head. 45 The person with skin disease who has the lesion must wear torn clothes, leave his head uncovered, cover his upper lip, and call out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ 46 He shall remain unclean as long as he has the lesion. He is unclean; he must live alone. His dwelling shall be outside the camp.
47 When a patch of mold appears in a garment, whether a wool garment or a linen garment, 48 or in the warp or weft of linen or wool, or on a skin or anything made of leather, 49 and the patch in the garment, the skin, the warp, the weft, or any leather article is greenish or reddish, it is a patch of mold. It must be shown to the priest. 50 The priest shall examine the patch and isolate the affected article for seven days. 51 On the seventh day he shall examine the patch. If the patch has spread in the garment, the warp, the weft, or the leather, whatever the leather is used for, the patch is destructive mold; it is unclean. 52 He must burn the garment, the warp or weft of wool or linen, or any leather article that has the patch, because it is destructive mold. It must be burned in the fire. 53 But if the priest examines it and the patch has not spread in the garment, the warp, the weft, or any leather article, 54 the priest shall order them to wash the affected article and shall isolate it for another seven days. 55 The priest shall examine the patch after it has been washed. If the patch has not changed its color, even though it has not spread, it is unclean. You must burn it in the fire; the decay has eaten into it, whether on the back or the front. 56 But if the priest examines it and the patch has faded after it was washed, he must tear it out of the garment, the leather, the warp, or the weft. 57 If it appears again in the garment, the warp, the weft, or any leather article, it is breaking out. You must burn the affected article in the fire. 58 But the garment, the warp, the weft, or any leather article that you wash and from which the patch disappears must be washed a second time; then it shall be clean. 59 This is the law concerning a patch of mold in a wool or linen garment, in the warp or weft, or in any leather article, to declare it clean or unclean.”
