1 Listen to my words, LORD;
consider my groaning.
2 Attend to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
3 LORD, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my prayer before you and keep watch.
4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil cannot dwell with you.
5 The arrogant cannot stand before your eyes;
you hate all who do evil.
6 You destroy those who speak lies;
the LORD detests the bloodthirsty and deceitful.
7 But through your abundant steadfast love I will enter your house;
in reverence for you I will bow toward your holy temple.
8 LORD, lead me in your righteousness because of those who watch for my downfall;
make your way straight before me.
9 For nothing in their speech is trustworthy;
within them is destruction.
Their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongue.
10 Declare them guilty, God;
let their own schemes bring them down.
Drive them out for their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.
11 Let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them sing for joy forever.
Spread your protection over them, and let those who love your name exult in you.
12 For you bless the righteous, LORD;
you surround them with favor as with a shield.
