1 Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul!
2 I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I exist.
3 Do not put your trust in princes, in a human being who cannot save.
4 His breath departs, and he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
5 Blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever,
7 who brings justice to the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets prisoners free.
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
the LORD raises up those bowed down;
the LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over foreigners;
he upholds the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the way of the wicked.
10 The LORD will reign forever, your God, Zion, through all generations.
