Chapter 6.
The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When a man or woman makes a special vow of Nazirite consecration, to consecrate himself to the LORD,
he must abstain from wine and intoxicating drink. He must not drink wine vinegar or vinegar made from intoxicating drink, or drink any grape juice, or eat fresh or dried grapes.
Throughout the days of his consecration, he must not eat anything produced by the grapevine, from the seeds to the skins.
Throughout the days of his vow of consecration, no razor shall pass over his head. Until the days for which he consecrates himself to the LORD are complete, he shall be holy; he shall let the hair of his head grow freely.
Throughout the days of his consecration to the LORD, he must not go near a dead body.
He must not make himself unclean for his father, his mother, his brother, or his sister when they die, because the consecration of his God is on his head.
Throughout the days of his consecration, he is holy to the LORD.
If someone dies beside him very suddenly and defiles his consecrated head, he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it.
On the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
The priest shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and make atonement for him because he sinned in connection with the dead body. That day he shall consecrate his head.
He shall consecrate to the LORD the days of his consecration and bring a year-old male lamb as a guilt offering. The former days shall not count, because his consecration was defiled.
This is the law of the Nazirite: when his days of consecration are complete, he shall be brought to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
He shall present his offering to the LORD: one year-old male lamb without blemish as a burnt offering, one year-old female lamb without blemish as a sin offering, and one ram without blemish as a peace offering;
also a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened wafers spread with oil, together with their grain offering and their drink offerings.
The priest shall present them before the LORD and offer his sin offering and his burnt offering.
He shall offer the ram as a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, together with the basket of unleavened bread. The priest shall also offer its grain offering and its drink offering.
The Nazirite shall shave his consecrated head at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. He shall take the hair of his consecrated head and put it on the fire beneath the sacrifice of peace offerings.
The priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them in the Nazirite's hands after he has shaved off his consecrated hair.
The priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD; it is holy for the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the raised offering. Afterward the Nazirite may drink wine.
This is the law of the Nazirite who makes a vow, and of his offering to the LORD for his consecration, besides what his means allow. He shall do according to the vow he makes, in keeping with the law of his consecration.’”
The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
“Speak to Aaron and his sons and say, ‘This is how you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them:
“The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”’
So they shall put my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
