Job.
Chapter 40.
Then the LORD answered Job and said,
“Will a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let the one who reproves God answer this!”
Then Job answered the LORD and said,
“Look, I am of little account; what can I answer you? I have put my hand over my mouth.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, and I will add no more.”
Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind and said,
“Gird your loins like a man; I will question you, and you must instruct me.
Will you even annul my justice? Will you condemn me so that you may be in the right?
Have you an arm like God's? Can you thunder with a voice like his?
Adorn yourself with majesty and grandeur; clothe yourself with glory and splendor.
Pour out the fury of your anger; look at everyone who is proud and bring him low.
Look at everyone who is proud and humble him; tread down the wicked where they stand.
Hide them together in the dust; bind their faces in the hidden place.
Then I too will acknowledge to you that your own right hand can save you.
Look now at Behemoth, whom I made along with you; he eats grass like an ox.
Look at his strength in his loins, his power in the muscles of his belly.
He bends his tail down like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are interwoven.
His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron.
He is the foremost of God's works; his Maker can bring near his sword.
For the mountains yield food for him, where all the beasts of the field play.
He lies beneath the lotus trees, hidden among reeds and marsh.
The lotus trees cover him with their shade; the willows of the stream surround him.
Look, if the river surges, he is not alarmed; he is confident though the Jordan rushes against his mouth.
Can anyone capture him while he watches, or pierce his nose with snares?
