Psalm.
Chapter 64.
Hear my voice, God, in my complaint; guard my life from the terror of the enemy.
Hide me from the conspiracy of evildoers, from the tumult of those who do evil,
who sharpen their tongue like a sword and aim a bitter word as their arrow,
to shoot from hiding at the blameless man; suddenly they shoot at him without fear.
They encourage one another in an evil plan; they talk of hiding snares and say, “Who will see them?”
They devise injustices: “We have completed a carefully devised plan.” The inward self and heart of man are deep.
But God will shoot them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded.
Their own tongue will make them stumble; all who see them will shake their heads.
Then all people will fear; they will proclaim the work of God and understand what he has done.
The righteous man will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will boast.
