Psalm.
Chapter 144.
Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for war.
He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.
LORD, what is a human being that you take notice of him, a mortal’s son that you consider him?
A human being is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.
LORD, bend your heavens and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
Flash your lightning and scatter them; send your arrows and throw them into confusion.
Reach down your hands from on high; rescue me and deliver me from mighty waters, from the hand of foreigners,
whose mouths speak falsehood and whose right hand is a right hand of deceit.
God, I will sing you a new song; on a ten-stringed harp I will sing your praise.
He gives salvation to kings and rescues David his servant from the deadly sword.
Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak falsehood and whose right hand is a right hand of deceit.
May our sons be like plants grown tall in their youth, our daughters like corner pillars carved for a palace.
May our storehouses be full, providing supplies of every kind; may our flocks multiply by thousands and tens of thousands in our fields.
May our oxen be fully laden; may there be no breach and no going out in surrender, no cry of distress in our squares.
Blessed are the people for whom it is so; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!
