Ezekiel.
Chapter 45.
“When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance, you shall set apart a holy portion of the land for the LORD, about eight and a third miles long and three and a third miles wide. It shall be holy throughout its entire territory.
From it, a square about eight hundred seventy-five feet by eight hundred seventy-five feet shall be for the sanctuary, with an open strip of about eighty-seven and a half feet all around it.
Within this area you shall measure a length of about eight and a third miles and a width of about three and a third miles. In it shall be the sanctuary, which is most holy.
This holy portion of the land shall be for the priests who minister in the sanctuary and draw near to minister to the LORD. It shall be a place for their houses and a sacred place for the sanctuary.
An area about eight and a third miles long and three and a third miles wide shall belong to the Levites who serve in the temple, as their possession, with twenty rooms.
You shall give the city a possession about one and two-thirds miles wide and eight and a third miles long, alongside the holy portion. It shall belong to the whole house of Israel.
The prince shall have land on either side of the holy portion and the city's possession, facing the holy portion and the city's possession, from the west side westward and from the east side eastward. Its length shall correspond to one of the portions, from the western boundary to the eastern boundary.
This land shall be his possession in Israel. My princes shall no longer oppress my people, but shall give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
This is what the Lord GOD says: Enough, princes of Israel! Put away violence and plunder, and practice justice and righteousness. Stop dispossessing my people, declares the Lord GOD.
You shall have honest scales, an honest ephah for dry measure, and an honest bath for liquid measure.
The ephah and the bath shall have the same capacity—about twenty dry quarts or six gallons of liquid. The bath shall hold one-tenth of a homer, and the ephah one-tenth of a homer. Their measure shall be based on the homer.
The shekel, about four-tenths of an ounce, shall be twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels shall make up your mina.
This is the contribution you shall offer: one-sixth of an ephah from each homer of wheat, and you shall give one-sixth of an ephah from each homer of barley.
The prescribed portion of oil, measured by the bath, shall be one-tenth of a bath from each cor. Ten baths make a homer, for ten baths are a homer.
And one sheep or goat from every two hundred in the flock, from the well-watered pastures of Israel, shall be for the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for them, declares the Lord GOD.
All the people of the land shall give this contribution to the prince in Israel.
It shall be the prince's responsibility to provide the burnt offerings, the grain offering, and the drink offering at the festivals, the new moons, and the Sabbaths, at all the appointed festivals of the house of Israel. He shall prepare the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Israel.
This is what the Lord GOD says: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull from the herd without blemish and cleanse the sanctuary.
The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorpost of the temple, on the four corners of the altar's ledge, and on the doorpost of the gateway of the inner court.
You shall do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who sins unintentionally or through ignorance. Thus you shall make atonement for the temple.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall observe the Passover, a festival of seven days, when unleavened bread shall be eaten.
On that day the prince shall prepare a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land.
During the seven days of the festival he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD: seven bulls and seven rams without blemish each day of the seven days, and a male goat each day as a sin offering.
He shall prepare a grain offering of about twenty dry quarts for each bull and twenty dry quarts for each ram, and about a gallon of oil for each twenty dry quarts of grain.
In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, at the festival, he shall do the same for the seven days regarding the sin offering, the burnt offering, the grain offering, and the oil.”
