Zechariah.
Chapter 14.
Look, a day is coming for the LORD, when your plunder will be divided in your midst.
“I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses plundered, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.”
Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fights on a day of battle.
On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will split in two from east to west, forming a very great valley. Half the mountain will move north and half south.
You will flee through the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with you.
On that day there will be no light; the bright lights will grow dim.
It will be a unique day, known to the LORD, neither day nor night. At evening there will be light.
On that day living waters will flow from Jerusalem, half toward the eastern sea and half toward the western sea. It will be so in summer and in winter.
The LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one.
All the land will become like a plain, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But she will be raised up and inhabited in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the first gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
People will dwell in her, and there will be no more utter destruction. Jerusalem will dwell securely.
This will be the plague with which the LORD strikes all the peoples who fought against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
On that day a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Each will seize his neighbor’s hand, and his hand will rise against his neighbor’s hand.
Judah too will fight in Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered—gold, silver, and garments in great abundance.
A plague like this will also strike the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all the livestock in those camps.
Then all who remain from all the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
If any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, no rain will fall on them.
If the family of Egypt does not go up and come, they too will have no rain. There will be the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
On that day the bells of the horses will bear the words “Holy to the LORD.” The pots in the house of the LORD will be like the bowls before the altar.
Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of hosts. All who sacrifice will come and take them and cook in them. On that day there will no longer be a merchant in the house of the LORD of hosts.
