23
1 No one whose testicles are crushed or whose penis is cut off shall enter the assembly of the LORD.
2 No one born of an illegitimate union shall enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the LORD.
3 No Ammonite or Moabite shall enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of their descendants shall ever enter the assembly of the LORD, 4 because they did not meet you with bread and water on the way when you came out of Egypt, and because he hired Balaam son of Beor, from Pethor in Aram-naharaim, against you to curse you. 5 But the LORD your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, and the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loved you. 6 You shall not seek their peace or their welfare all your days, forever.
7 You shall not detest an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not detest an Egyptian, for you were a resident foreigner in his land.
8 The children born to them in the third generation may enter the assembly of the LORD.
9 When you go out on a campaign against your enemies, guard yourself from every evil thing. 10 If there is among you a man who is not clean because of a nocturnal emission, he shall go outside the camp; he shall not enter the camp. 11 Toward evening he shall bathe in water, and when the sun sets he may enter the camp. 12 You shall have a place outside the camp where you shall go out. 13 You shall have a peg among your equipment. When you sit down outside, dig with it, then turn back and cover your excrement. 14 For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to deliver you and give your enemies over before you. Therefore your camp shall be holy, lest he see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.
15 You shall not hand over to his master a slave who has escaped to you from his master. 16 He shall live with you, in your midst, in the place he chooses within any of your gates, wherever it is good for him. You shall not oppress him.
17 There shall be no female cult prostitute among the daughters of Israel and no male cult prostitute among the sons of Israel. 18 You shall not bring the earnings of a prostitute or the price of a dog into the house of the LORD your God for any vow, for both are an abomination to the LORD your God. 19 You shall not charge your brother interest on money, interest on food, or interest on anything that is lent at interest. 20 You may charge a foreigner interest, but you shall not charge your brother interest, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all you put your hand to in the land you are entering to possess.
21 When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin. 22 But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty of sin. 23 You shall keep and do what goes out from your lips, just as you vowed to the LORD your God, the freewill offering you spoke of with your mouth.
24 When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat grapes as your soul desires, to your satisfaction, but you shall not put any in your container.
25 When you enter your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck heads with your hand, but you shall not swing a sickle over your neighbor’s standing grain.
