1 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what the Lord GOD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and lead you on. I will bring you up from the farthest north and bring you against the mountains of Israel. 3 I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows fall from your right hand. 4 You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples with you. I will give you as food to birds of prey of every kind and to the beasts of the field. 5 You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD. 6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who live securely in the coastlands. Then they will know that I am the LORD. 7 I will make my holy name known among my people Israel and will no longer let my holy name be profaned. The nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Look, it is coming, and it will happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day I have spoken of. 9 The inhabitants of Israel's cities will go out and kindle fires with the weapons, burning small and large shields, bows and arrows, clubs and spears. They will make fires with them for seven years. 10 They will not gather wood from the fields or cut it from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons. They will despoil those who despoiled them and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.
11 On that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel: the valley of the travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers' way. There they will bury Gog and all his multitude and call it the Valley of Hamon-gog. 12 The house of Israel will bury them for seven months to cleanse the land. 13 All the people of the land will bury them, and this will bring them renown on the day I show my glory, declares the Lord GOD. 14 They will set apart men for continual duty, passing through the land to bury the travelers, those remaining on the surface of the land, to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15 As the travelers pass through the land, whenever someone sees a human bone, he will set up a marker beside it until the buriers bury it in the Valley of Hamon-gog. 16 The name of the city will also be Hamonah. Thus they will cleanse the land.
17 And you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Say to birds of every kind and to all the beasts of the field: ‘Gather and come! Assemble from all around for the sacrifice I am offering for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel. You will eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You will eat the flesh of mighty warriors and drink the blood of the princes of the earth: rams, lambs, male goats, and bulls, all fattened animals of Bashan. 19 You will eat fat until you are full and drink blood until you are drunk, from the sacrifice I have offered for you. 20 At my table you will be filled with horses and riders, mighty warriors and every man of war, declares the Lord GOD.’ 21 I will set my glory among the nations. All the nations will see the judgment I have carried out and the hand I have laid on them. 22 From that day onward the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God. 23 The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile because of their iniquity, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and gave them into the hands of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and I hid my face from them.
25 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name. 26 They will bear their shame and all the unfaithfulness with which they were unfaithful to me, when they live securely on their land with no one to make them afraid. 27 When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, I will show my holiness through them in the sight of many nations. 28 They will know that I am the LORD their God, for I sent them into exile among the nations and will gather them onto their own land, leaving none of them there any longer. 29 I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will have poured out my Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”
