24
1 The LORD spoke to Moses and said, 2 “Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the light, to keep a lamp burning continually. 3 Outside the veil of the testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall tend it continually before the LORD from evening to morning. This is a lasting statute throughout your generations. 4 He shall tend the lamps on the pure lampstand before the LORD continually.
5 You must take fine flour and bake twelve loaves from it. Each loaf shall be made from two-tenths of an ephah, about four quarts. 6 You must put them in two rows, six in each row, on the pure table before the LORD. 7 You must put pure frankincense on each row, so that it serves as a memorial portion for the bread, an offering by fire to the LORD. 8 Every Sabbath he shall set it out before the LORD continually, on behalf of the Israelites, as an everlasting covenant. 9 It shall belong to Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, for it is most holy to him from the LORD's offerings by fire, as a perpetual portion.”
10 The son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the Israelites. The Israelite woman's son and an Israelite man fought in the camp. 11 The Israelite woman's son blasphemed the Name and cursed, and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. 12 They put him in custody so that the matter might be made clear to them by the LORD's word.
13 The LORD spoke to Moses and said, 14 “Take the man who cursed outside the camp. All who heard him shall lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation shall stone him. 15 You must tell the Israelites, ‘Anyone who curses his God shall bear his sin. 16 Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him. Whether a foreigner or a native, whoever blasphemes the Name must be put to death. 17 Whoever kills a human being must surely be put to death. 18 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution for it, life for life. 19 If a man injures his neighbor, as he has done, so it shall be done to him: 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Just as he has injured a person, so it shall be inflicted on him. 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution for it, but whoever kills a human being must be put to death. 22 You shall have one standard of judgment for the foreigner and the native alike, for I am the LORD your God.’ ” 23 Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the man who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
