1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt and commit detestable injustice;
no one does good.
2 God looks down from heaven on humankind to see if anyone understands, if anyone seeks God.
3 All have turned back;
together they have become corrupt.
No one does good, not even one.
4 Do those who do evil have no understanding?
They devour my people as they eat bread, and they do not call on God.
5 There they are filled with dread where there was nothing to dread, for God has scattered the bones of the one encamped against you.
You have put them to shame, for God has rejected them.
6 Oh, that Israel’s salvation would come from Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will exult and Israel will rejoice.
