83
1 God, do not remain silent;
do not hold your peace or be still, God.
2 For look, your enemies are in uproar;
those who hate you have lifted their heads.
3 They plot cunningly against your people and conspire against those you shelter.
4 They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation, so that the name of Israel is remembered no more.”
5 For they conspire with one accord;
they make a covenant against you:
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.
8 Assyria too has joined them;
they have become an arm of strength for the children of Lot. Selah.

9 Do to them as you did to Midian, to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River,
10 who were destroyed at Endor and became dung for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, “Let us take possession of the pastures of God.”
13 My God, make them like whirling dust, like stubble before the wind.
14 As fire burns a forest, as a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.
16 Fill their faces with dishonor, that they may seek your name, LORD.
17 Let them be ashamed and terrified forever;
let them be disgraced and perish.
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD, you alone are Most High over all the earth.
