Acrostic Psalm
1 Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
א Blessed is the man who fears Adonai,
בּ who delights greatly in his mitzvot ·instructions·.
2 גּ His offspring will be mighty in the land.
דּ The generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 ה Wealth and riches are in his house.
ו His righteousness endures forever.
4 ז Light dawns in the darkness for the upright,
ח gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 ט It is well with the man who is merciful and lends.
י He will maintain his cause in judgment.
6 כּ For he will never be shaken.
ל The upright will be remembered forever.
7 מ He will not be afraid of evil news.
נ His heart is steadfast, trusting in Adonai.
8 ס His heart is established.
ע He will not be afraid in the end when he sees his adversaries.
9 פּ He has dispersed, he has given to the poor.

ק His horn will be exalted with kavod ·weighty glory·.
10 ר The wicked will see it, and be grieved.
שׁ He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away.
