LORD, youhavesearchedme,
andyouknowme.
Youknowmysittingdownandmyrisingup.
Youperceivemythoughtsfromafar.
You search outmypathandmy lying down,
andareacquaintedwithallmyways.
Forthereisnotawordonmytongue,
butbehold, LORD, youknowitaltogether.
You hem meinbehindandbefore.
Youlaidyourhandonme.
This knowledgeisbeyondme.
It’s lofty.
Ican’t attainit.
Where could IgofromyourSpirit?
Or where could Ifleefromyourpresence?
IfI ascend upintoheaven, you arethere.
IfImakemybedinSheol,Sheol is the place of the dead.behold, you arethere!
If Itakethewingsofthedawn,
andsettleinthe uttermost parts ofthesea,
10 eventhereyourhandwillleadme,
andyourrighthandwill hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely thedarknesswilloverwhelmme.
The light aroundmewillbenight,”
12 eventhedarkness doesn’t hide fromyou,
butthenight shines astheday.
Thedarknessislike light toyou.
13 Foryouformedmyinmostbeing.
Youknitmetogetherinmy mother’s womb.
14 Iwillgivethankstoyou,
forI am fearfullyandwonderfullymade.
Yourworksarewonderful.
Mysoulknowsthatverywell.
15 Myframe wasn’t hiddenfromyou,
whenIwasmadeinsecret,
woven together inthedepthsofthe earth.
16 Youreyessawmy body.
Inyourbooktheywereallwritten,
thedaysthatwereordainedforme,
whenasyettherewerenoneofthem.
17 Howprecioustomeareyourthoughts, God!
Howvastistheirsum!
18 If I would countthem, theyaremoreinnumberthanthesand.
When I wakeup, I am stillwithyou.
19 If onlyyou, God, would kill thewicked.
Getawayfromme, you bloodthirsty men!
20 Forthey speak against youwickedly.
Yourenemiestakeyour name invain.
21 LORD, don’t Ihatethosewhohateyou?
AmInotgrievedwiththosewho rise upagainstyou?
22 Ihatethemwithperfecthatred.
They havebecomemyenemies.
23 Searchme, God, andknowmyheart.
Tryme, andknowmythoughts.
24 Seeifthereisanywickedwayinme,
andleadmeintheeverlastingway.
