The New Heaven and the New Earth
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 *I 𝔐A,C,K [87.2%] β€’ MSS [8.4%] Β¦ I, John, TR [1%]I also saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down †out of heaven from God 𝔐K [58.6%] Β¦ from God out of heaven 𝔐A,C PCK TR [35%]out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from ‑heaven 𝔐A,C,K 96.1% Β¦ the throne ECM† NA SBL TH WH 1.3%heaven saying, β€œBehold, the tabernacle of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with Β§them 𝔐K ANT ECM† HF SBL WH 36.4% β€’ 𝔐Aβˆ’,C 26.3% Β¦ them as their God 𝔐A+ TR 22.9% β€’ ECM† NA TH 1.7%them. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. 9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues Β§came Β¦ came to me TRcame and said to me, β€œCome, I will show yoΚ‹ the *wife, the bride of the Lamb 𝔐C,K 51.9% Β¦ bride of the Lamb, the wife 𝔐A TR 26.2% Β¦ bride, the wife of the Lamb ANT CT 12.7%wife, the bride of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the †holy city 𝔐K [48.5%] Β¦ great and holy city 𝔐A [33.2%] Β¦ great city, the holy 𝔐C PCK RP TR [33.2%]holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 The city shone with the glory of God, and its radiance was like a very precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates. 15 The angel who spoke to me had a golden *measuring 𝔐C,K [80.1%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐A TR [19.9%]measuring rod to measure the †city, its gates, and its wall 𝔐A 48.1% Β¦ city and its wall 𝔐C,K PCK 49.4%city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is the same as its width. The angel measured the city with the rod and found it to be twelve thousand ‑and twelve 𝔐C,K [53%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐A ANT CT TR [42.6%]and twelve stadia. (The length, width, and height were all equal.) 17 Β§Its wall was 𝔐K 40% Β¦ Then he measured its wall and found it to be 𝔐A,C ANT CT PCK RP TR 51.7% β€’ MSS 7.8%Its wall was one hundred forty-four cubits according to human measurement, which the angel was using. 18 The wall was made of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, agate; the fourth, emerald; 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, carnelian; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each one of the gates was made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22 I did not see a temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and so is the Lamb. 23 The city has no need of sun or moon to *shine upon it, for the glory of God Β¦ shine, for the glory of God itself K HFshine upon it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 The nations †will walk by its light 𝔐A,C,K [89.2%] Β¦ of those who have been saved will walk in its lightβ€”the nations by its light MSS [5.4%] Β¦ of those who have been saved will walk in its light TR [2%]will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring ‑the glory and honor of the nations to the city to present to God 𝔐K+ [23.2%] β€’ 𝔐Kβˆ’ HF RP [17.9%] Β¦ their glory and honor to the city 𝔐C ANT PCK TR [19.2%] Β¦ their glory to the city 𝔐A CT [25.1%]the glory and honor of the nations to the city to present to God. 25 Its gates will never be shut at the end of the day, for there will be no night there. 26 They will bring the glory and honor of the nations Β§to the city, so that they may enter in. 𝔐K [46.3%] Β¦ into the city. 𝔐A,C ANT CT PCK RP TR [53.7%]to the city, so that they may enter in. 27 But *no unclean thing 𝔐A,C,K [97.5%] Β¦ nothing that defiles TR [1%]no unclean thing †and no one who 𝔐K ANT ECM† HF NA WH 37.5% β€’ SBL TH 7.8% Β¦ and nothing that 𝔐A,C ECM† PCK RP TR 44.4% Β¦ that MSS 5.2%and no one who causes an abomination or a lie will ever enter it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
