A Prayer for the Overthrow of the Wicked.
1 Why APs 22:1do You stand afar off, O Loʀᴅ?
2Or They will be caughtLet them be BPs 7:16; 9:16caught in the plots which they have devised.
All his 1Or plotsthoughts are, “BPs 14:1; 36:1There is no God.”
Your judgments are on high, BPs 28:5out of his sight;
As for all his adversaries, he snorts at them.
6 He says to himself, “APs 49:11; Eccl 8:11I will not be moved;
CJob 20:12; Ps 140:3Under his tongue is mischief and wickedness.
8 He sits in the APs 11:2lurking places of the villages;
In the hiding places he BPs 94:6kills the innocent;
He BPs 59:3; Mic 7:2lurks to catch CPs 10:2the afflicted;
He catches the afflicted when he draws him into his DPs 140:5net.
And the 3Or poorunfortunate fall 4Or into his clawsby his mighty ones.
11 He APs 10:4says to himself, “God has forgotten;
He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”
12 Arise, O Loʀᴅ; O God, APs 17:7; Mic 5:9lift up Your hand.
BPs 9:12Do not forget the afflicted.
13 Why has the wicked APs 10:3spurned God?
He has said to himself, “You will not require it.”
14 You have seen it, for You have beheld APs 10:7mischief and vexation to 1Lit put, givetake it into Your hand.
You have been the CPs 68:5helper of the orphan.
15 APs 37:17Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer,
