5 Then Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob and their little ones and their wives in the AGen 45:21wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6 They took their livestock and their property, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and ADeut 26:5; Josh 24:4; Ps 105:23; Is 52:4; Acts 7:15came to Egypt, Jacob and all his 1Lit seeddescendants with him: 7 his sons and his grandsons with him, his daughters and his granddaughters, and all his 1Lit seeddescendants he brought with him to Egypt.

And the A1 Chr 2:5sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 13 The sons of Issachar: Tola and 1In Num 26:23, Puvah; in 1 Chr 7:1, PuahPuvvah and 2In Num 26:24 and 1 Chr 7:1, JashubIob and Shimron. 14 The sons of Zebulun: Sered and Elon and Jahleel. 15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah; 1Lit all the souls ofall his sons and his daughters numbered thirty-three. 16 The ANum 26:15-18sons of Gad: 1In Num 26:15, ZephonZiphion and Haggi, Shuni and 2In Num 26:16, OzniEzbon, Eri and 3In Num 26:17, ArodArodi and Areli. 17 The A1 Chr 7:30sons of Asher: Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah and their sister Serah. 28 Now he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to point out the way before him to AGen 45:10Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. 29 Joseph 1Lit tied, harnessedprepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; as soon as he appeared 2Lit tobefore him, he fell on his neck and AGen 45:14, 15wept on his neck a long time. 30 Then Israel said to Joseph, “Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.” 31 Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “AGen 47:1I will go up and tell Pharaoh, and will say to him, ‘My brothers and my father’s household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me; 32 and the men are shepherds, for they have been 1Lit menkeepers of livestock; and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.’ 33  “When Pharaoh calls you and says, ‘AGen 47:2, 3What is your occupation?’ 34 you shall say, ‘Your servants have been 1Lit menAGen 13:7, 8; 26:20; 37:2keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,’ that you may 2Lit dwelllive in the land of BGen 45:10, 18; 47:6, 11Goshen; for every shepherd is 3Lit an abominationCGen 43:32; Ex 8:26loathsome to the Egyptians.”
