7 The Loʀᴅ said, “I have surely AEx 2:25; Neh 9:9; Ps 106:44; Is 63:9; Acts 7:34seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. 8  “So I have come down AGen 15:13-16; 46:4; 50:24, 25; Ex 6:6-8; 12:51to deliver them from the 1Lit handpower of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a BEx 3:17; 13:5; Num 13:27; Deut 1:25; 8:7-9; Jer 11:5; Ezek 20:6good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of CGen 15:19-21; Josh 24:11the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. 9  “Now, behold, AEx 2:23the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

10  “Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, AGen 15:13, 14; Ex 12:40, 41; Mic 6:4; Acts 7:6, 7so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “AEx 4:10; 6:12; 1 Sam 18:18Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And He said, “Certainly AGen 31:3; Ex 4:12, 15; 33:14-16; Deut 31:23; Josh 1:5; Is 43:2I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: BEx 19:1when you have brought the people out of Egypt, CEx 19:2, 3; Acts 7:7you shall 1Or serveworship God at this mountain.”

So now, please, let us go a CEx 5:3; 8:27three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Loʀᴅ our God.’ 19  “But I know that the king of Egypt AEx 5:2will not permit you to go, BEx 6:1except 1Lit by a strong handunder compulsion. 20  “So I will stretch out AEx 6:1; 7:4, 5; 9:15; 13:3, 9, 14My hand and strike Egypt with all My BEx 7:3; 15:11; Deut 6:22; Neh 9:10; Ps 105:27; 135:9; Jer 32:20; Acts 7:36miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and CEx 11:1; 12:31-33after that he will let you go. 21  “I will grant this people AEx 11:3; 12:36; 1 Kin 8:50; Ps 105:37f; 106:46; Prov 16:7favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22  “But every woman AGen 15:14; Ex 11:2; 12:35shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. Thus you will BEzek 39:10plunder the Egyptians.”
