Prayer of an Afflicted Man for Mercy on Himself and on Zion.
A Prayer of the Afflicted when he is faint and APs 142:2pours out his complaint before the Loʀᴅ.
APs 39:12; 61:1Hear my prayer, O Loʀᴅ!
And let my cry for help BEx 2:23; 1 Sam 9:16come to You.
APs 69:17Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;
BPs 31:2Incline Your ear to me;
In the day when I call APs 69:17answer me quickly.
For my days APs 37:20; James 4:14have been 1Or finishedconsumed in smoke,
And my BJob 30:30; Lam 1:13bones have been scorched like a hearth.
My heart APs 90:5, 6has been smitten like 1Lit herbagegrass and has BPs 37:2; Is 40:7withered away,
Indeed, I C1 Sam 1:7; 2 Sam 12:17; Ezra 10:6; Job 33:20forget to eat my bread.
Because of the 1Lit voiceloudness of my groaning
My AJob 19:20; Lam 4:8bones 2Lit have cleavedcling to my flesh.
I 1Lit have become similar toresemble a AIs 34:11; Zeph 2:14pelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.
I APs 77:4lie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.

My enemies APs 31:11have reproached me all day long;
Those who 1Or made a fool ofBActs 26:11deride me 2Lit have sworn by mehave used my name as a C2 Sam 16:5; Is 65:15; Jer 29:22curse.
For I have eaten ashes like bread
And APs 42:3; 80:5mingled my drink with weeping
10 APs 38:3Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have BJob 27:21; 30:22lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a 1Lit stretched outAJob 14:2; Ps 109:23lengthened shadow,
And 2Or as for me, II BPs 102:4wither away like 3Lit herbagegrass.

12 But You, O Loʀᴅ, 1Or sit enthronedAPs 9:7; 10:16; Lam 5:19abide forever,

19 For He ADeut 26:15; Ps 14:2; 53:2looked down from His holy height;

And the kingdoms, to serve the Loʀᴅ.

23 He has weakened my strength in the way;
He has APs 39:5shortened my days.
24 I say, “O my God, APs 39:13; Is 38:10do not take me away in the 1Lit halfmidst of my days,
Your BJob 36:26; Ps 90:2; 102:12; Hab 1:12years are throughout all generations.
