Salvation Reaches to the End of the Earth
Listen to Me, O AIs 42:4islands,
And pay attention, you peoples from afar.
BIs 44:2, 24; 46:3; Jer 1:5The Loʀᴅ called Me from the womb;
From the 1Lit inward partsbody of My mother He named Me.
He has made My AIs 11:4; Heb 4:12; Rev 1:16; 2:12, 16mouth like a sharp sword,
In the BIs 51:16shadow of His hand He has concealed Me;
And He has also made Me a 1Or sharpenedselect CHab 3:11arrow,
He has hidden Me in His quiver.
He said to Me, “AZech 3:8You are My Servant, Israel,
BIs 44:23In Whom I will 1Or glorify Myselfshow My glory.”
But I said, “I have AIs 65:23toiled in vain,
I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity;
Yet surely the justice due to Me is with the Loʀᴅ,
And My BIs 35:4; 59:18reward with My God.”

And now says AIs 44:2the Loʀᴅ, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,
To bring Jacob back to Him, so that BIs 11:12; 27:12Israel might be gathered to Him
(For I am CIs 43:4honored in the sight of the Loʀᴅ,
And My God is My DIs 12:2strength),
He says, “It is too 1Lit lightsmall a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the APs 37:28; 97:10preserved ones of Israel;
I will also make You a BIs 42:6; 51:4; Luke 2:32; Acts 13:47; 26:23light 2Or toof the nations
So that My salvation may 3Lit bereach to the CIs 48:20end of the earth.”
Thus says the Loʀᴅ, the AIs 48:17Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One,
To the BPs 22:6-8; 69:7-9; Is 53:3despised One,
To the One abhorred by the nation,
To the Servant of rulers,
CIs 52:15Kings will see and arise,
Princes will also DIs 19:21, 23; 27:13; 66:23bow down,
Because of the Loʀᴅ who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

Thus says the Loʀᴅ,
“In a APs 69:13; 2 Cor 6:2favorable time I have answered You,
And in a day of salvation I have helped You;
And I will BIs 26:3; 27:3; 42:6keep You and CIs 42:6give You for a covenant of the people,
To 1Lit establishDIs 44:26restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages;
Saying to those who are AIs 42:7; 61:1; Luke 4:18bound, ‘Go forth,’
To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’
Along the roads they will feed,
And their pasture will be on all BIs 41:18bare heights.
10 “They will AIs 33:16; 48:21; Rev 7:16not hunger or thirst,
Nor will the scorching BPs 121:6heat or sun strike them down;
For CIs 14:1He who has compassion on them will DPs 23:2; Is 40:11lead them
And will guide them to EIs 35:7; 41:17springs of water.
11 “I will make all AIs 40:4My mountains a road,
And My BIs 11:16; 19:23; 35:8; 62:10highways will be raised up.
12 “Behold, these will come AIs 49:1; 60:4from afar;
And lo, these will come from the BIs 43:5, 6north and from the west,
And these from the land of Sinim.”
13 AIs 44:23Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!
Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains!
For the BIs 40:1; 51:3, 12Loʀᴅ has comforted His people
And will CIs 54:7, 8, 10have compassion on His afflicted.

Promise to Zion
14 But Zion said, “The Loʀᴅ has forsaken me,
And the Lord has forgotten me.”
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but AIs 44:21I will not forget you.
16 “Behold, I have ASong 8:6; Hag 2:23inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your BPs 48:12, 13; Is 62:6, 7walls are continually before Me.
17 “Your 1So ancient versions and DSS; M.T. reads sonsbuilders hurry;
Your AIs 10:6; 37:18destroyers and devastators
Will depart from you.
18 AIs 60:4; John 4:35Lift up your eyes and look around;
BIs 43:5; 54:7; 60:4All of them gather together, CIs 49:12they come to you.
DIs 45:23; 54:9As I live,” declares the Loʀᴅ,
“You will surely EIs 52:1; 61:10put on all of them as 1Lit an ornamentjewels and bind them on as a bride.
19 “For AIs 1:7; 3:8; 5:6; 51:3your waste and desolate places and your destroyed land—
Surely now you will be BIs 54:1, 2; Zech 10:10too cramped for the inhabitants,
And those who CPs 56:1, 2swallowed you will be far away.
20 “The AIs 54:1-3children of 1Lit your bereavementwhom you were bereaved will yet say in your ears,
‘The place is too cramped for me;
Make room for me that I may live here.
21 “Then you will AIs 29:23; 54:6, 7say in your heart,
‘Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And am BIs 27:10; Lam 1:1barren, an CIs 5:13exile and a wanderer?
And who has reared these?
Behold, I was DIs 1:8left alone;
1Lit These, where are they?EIs 60:8From where did these come?’ ”
22 Thus says the Lord 1Heb YHWH, usually rendered LoʀᴅGoᴅ,
“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations
And set up My AIs 11:10, 12; 18:3; 62:10standard to the peoples;
And they will BIs 14:2; 43:6; 60:4bring your sons in their bosom,
And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.
23 AIs 14:1, 2; 60:3, 10, 11Kings will be your guardians,
And their princesses your nurses.
They will BIs 45:14; 60:14bow down to you with their faces to the earth
And CPs 72:9; Mic 7:17lick the dust of your feet;
And you will DIs 41:20; 43:10; 60:16know that I am the Loʀᴅ;
Those who hopefully EPs 37:9; Is 25:9; 26:8wait for Me will FPs 25:3; Is 45:17; Joel 2:27not be put to shame.

24 AMatt 12:29; Luke 11:21Can the prey be taken from the mighty man,
Or the captives of 1So ancient versions and DSS; M.T. reads the righteous, cf v 25a tyrant be rescued?”
25 Surely, thus says the Loʀᴅ,
“Even the AIs 10:6; 14:1, 2; Jer 50:33, 34captives of the mighty man will be taken away,
And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued;
For I will contend with the one who contends with you,
And I will BIs 25:9; 33:22; 35:4save your sons.
26 “I will feed your AIs 9:4; 14:4; 16:4; 51:13; 54:14oppressors with their BIs 9:20own flesh,
And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine;
And CIs 45:6; Ezek 39:7all flesh will know that I, the Loʀᴅ, am your DIs 43:3Savior
And your EIs 49:7Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
