Prophecy against Gog—Invaders Destroyed
“And AEzek 38:2you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, ‘Thus says the Lord 1Heb YHWH, usually rendered Loʀᴅ, and so throughout the chGoᴅ, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, 2Or chief prince of Meshechprince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal; and I will turn you around, drive you on, take you up from the remotest parts of the north and bring you against the mountains of Israel.  “I will APs 76:3; Jer 21:4, 5; Ezek 30:21-24; Hos 1:5strike your bow from your left hand and dash down your arrows from your right hand.  “You will AIs 14:24, 25; Ezek 39:17-20fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you as BEzek 29:5; 32:4, 5; 33:27food to every 1Lit wingkind of predatory bird and beast of the field.  “You will fall on the 1Lit face of theopen field; for it is I who have spoken,” declares the Lord Goᴅ. “And I will send AEzek 30:8, 16; 38:19, 22; Amos 1:4, 7, 10; Nah 1:6fire upon Magog and those who inhabit the BPs 72:10; Is 66:19; Jer 25:22coastlands in safety; and they will know that I am the Loʀᴅ.
“My AEzek 36:20-22; 39:25holy name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel; and I will not let My holy name be BEx 20:7; Ezek 20:9, 14, 39profaned anymore. And the CEzek 38:16, 23nations will know that I am the Loʀᴅ, the DIs 12:6; 43:3, 14; 55:5; 60:9, 14Holy One in Israel.  “Behold, it is coming and it shall be done,” declares the Lord Goᴅ. “That is the day of which I have spoken.
“Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will AIs 66:24; Mal 1:5go out and make BJosh 11:6; Ps 46:9fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them. 10  “They will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoil of those who despoiled them and seize the AIs 14:2; 33:1; Mic 5:8; Hab 2:8plunder of those who plundered them,” declares the Lord Goᴅ.
11 “On that day I will give Gog a burial ground there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea, and it will block off those who would pass by. So they will bury Gog there with all his 1Lit crowdhorde, and they will call it the valley of 2Or the multitude of GogHamon-gog. 12  “For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to ADeut 21:23; Ezek 39:14, 16cleanse the land. 13  “Even all the people of the land will bury them; and it will be 1Or a memorial for themto their AJer 33:9; Zeph 3:19, 20renown on the day that I BEzek 28:22glorify Myself,” declares the Lord Goᴅ. 14 “They will set apart men who will constantly pass through the land, AJer 14:16burying those who were passing through, even those left on the surface of the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15  “As those who pass through the land pass through and anyone sees a man’s bone, then he will 1Lit buildset up a marker by it until the buriers have buried it in the valley of 2Or the multitude of GogHamon-gog. 16  “And even the name of the city will be Hamonah. So they will cleanse the land.” ’

21 “And I will set My AEx 9:16; Is 37:20; Ezek 36:23; 38:16, 23; 39:13glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed and My hand which I have laid on them. 22  “And the house of Israel will AJer 24:7know that I am the Loʀᴅ their God from that day onward. 23  “The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their AJer 22:8, 9; 44:22; Ezek 36:18, 19iniquity because they acted treacherously against Me, and I BIs 1:15; 59:2; Ezek 39:29hid My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and all of them fell by the sword. 24  “A2 Kin 17:7; Jer 2:17, 19; 4:18; Ezek 36:19According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I dealt with them, and I hid My face from them.” ’ ”
