1 In the AEzek 32:1, 17; 33:21twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the B2 Kin 25:1-7; Jer 39:1-9; 52:4-11; Ezek 33:21city was 1Lit strucktaken, on that same day the CEzek 1:3; 3:14, 22; 37:1hand of the Loʀᴅ was upon me and He brought me there. 2 In the AEzek 1:1; 8:3; Dan 7:1, 7visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me on a very BIs 2:2, 3; Ezek 17:23; 20:40; 37:22; Mic 4:1; Rev 21:10high mountain, and on it CPs 48:2; Is 14:13to the south there was a D1 Chr 28:12, 19structure like a city. 3 So He brought me there; and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of AEzek 1:7; Dan 10:6; Rev 1:15bronze, with a BEzek 47:3; Zech 2:1, 2line of flax and a CRev 11:1; 21:15measuring 1Lit reed, and so throughout the chrod in his hand; and he was standing in the gateway. 4 The man said to me, “AEzek 2:1, 3, 6, 8; 44:5Son of man, BEzek 2:7, 8; 44:5see with your eyes, hear with your ears, and give attention to all that I am going to show you; for you have been brought here in order to show it to you. CIs 21:10; Jer 26:2; Acts 20:27Declare to the house of Israel all that you see.”

5 And behold, there was a AIs 26:1; Ezek 42:20wall on the outside of the 1Lit housetemple all around, and in the man’s hand was a measuring rod of six cubits, each of which was a cubit and a 2I.e. 20.4 in. or longerhandbreadth. So he measured the thickness of the 3Lit buildingwall, one rod; and the height, one rod. 6 Then he went to the gate which faced AEzek 8:16; 11:1; 40:20; 43:1east, went up its steps and measured the threshold of the gate, one rod 1Or in depthin width; and the other threshold was one rod 1Or in depthin width. 7 The AEzek 40:10-16, 21, 29, 33, 36guardroom was one rod long and one rod wide; and there were five cubits between the guardrooms. And the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate 1Lit from the housefacing inward was one rod. 8 Then he measured the porch of the gate 1Lit from the housefacing inward, one rod. 9 He measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and its side pillars, two cubits. And the porch of the gate was 1Lit from the housefaced inward. 10 The guardrooms of the gate toward the east numbered three on each side; the three of them had the same measurement. The side pillars also had the same measurement on each side. 11 And he measured the width of the 1Lit entrance of the gategateway, ten cubits, and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits. 12 There was a 1Lit borderbarrier wall one cubit wide in front of the guardrooms on each side; and the guardrooms were six cubits square on each side. 13 He measured the gate from the roof of the one guardroom to the roof of the other, a width of twenty-five cubits from one door to the door opposite. 14 He made the side pillars sixty cubits high; the gate extended round about to the side pillar of the AEx 27:9; 1 Chr 28:6; Ps 100:4; Is 62:9; Ezek 8:7; 42:1courtyard. 15 From the front of the entrance gate to the front of the inner porch of the gate was fifty cubits. 16 There were 1Or beveled inwardsA1 Kin 6:4; Ezek 41:16, 26shuttered windows looking toward the guardrooms, and toward their side pillars within the gate all around, and likewise for the porches. And there were windows all around inside; and on each side pillar were B1 Kin 6:29, 32, 35; 2 Chr 3:5; Ezek 40:22, 26, 31, 34, 37; 41:18-20, 25, 26palm tree ornaments.

17 Then he brought me into the AEzek 10:5; 42:1; 46:21; Rev 11:2outer court, and behold, there were B2 Kin 23:11; 1 Chr 9:26; 23:28; 2 Chr 31:11; Ezek 40:38chambers and a pavement made for the court all around; thirty chambers 1Lit tofaced the pavement. 18 The pavement (that is, the lower pavement) was by the 1Lit shoulderside of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates. 19 Then he measured the width from the front of the AEzek 40:23, 27; 46:1, 2lower gate to the front of the exterior of the inner court, a BEzek 40:23, 27hundred cubits on the east and on the north.

20 As for the AEzek 40:6gate of the outer court which faced the north, he measured its length and its width. 21 1Lit Its guardrooms were threeIt had three AEzek 40:7guardrooms on each side; and its BEzek 40:16, 30side pillars and its porches 2Lit werehad the same measurement as the first gate. Its length was CEzek 40:15fifty cubits and the width DEzek 40:13twenty-five cubits. 22 Its AEzek 40:16windows and its porches and its palm tree ornaments had the same measurements as the BEzek 40:6gate which faced toward the east; and 1Lit they were going up into itit was reached by seven CEzek 40:26, 31, 34, 37, 49steps, and its 2Or porchesporch was in front of them. 23 The inner court had a gate opposite the gate on the north as well as the gate on the east; and he measured a AEzek 40:19, 27hundred cubits from gate to gate.

24 Then he led me toward the south, and behold, there was a AEzek 40:6, 20, 35; 46:9gate toward the south; and he measured its BEzek 40:21side pillars and its porches according to 1Lit these measurements, and so throughout the chthose same measurements. 25 1Lit ItThe gate and its porches had AEzek 40:16, 22, 29windows all around like 2Lit these windowsthose other windows; the length was BEzek 40:21, 33fifty cubits and the width twenty-five cubits. 26 There were seven AEzek 40:6, 22steps going up to it, and its porches were in front of them; and it had BEzek 40:16palm tree ornaments on its side pillars, one on each side. 27 The inner court had a gate toward the AEzek 40:23, 32south; and he measured from gate to gate toward the south, a BEzek 40:19hundred cubits.

28 Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate; and he measured the south gate AEzek 40:32, 35according to those same measurements. 29 Its AEzek 40:7, 10, 21guardrooms also, its side pillars and its BEzek 40:16, 22, 25porches were according to those same measurements. And 1Lit itthe gate and its porches had BEzek 40:16, 22, 25windows all around; it was CEzek 40:21fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide. 30 There were AEzek 40:16, 21porches all around, twenty-five cubits long and five cubits wide. 31 Its porches were toward the outer court; and AEzek 40:16palm tree ornaments were on its side pillars, and its stairway had eight BEzek 40:22, 26, 34, 37steps.

32 He brought me into the AEzek 40:28-31, 35inner court toward the east. And he measured the gate BEzek 40:28according to those same measurements. 33 Its AEzek 40:29guardrooms also, its side pillars and its porches were according to those same measurements. And 1Lit itthe gate and its porches had BEzek 40:16windows all around; it was CEzek 40:21fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide. 34 Its AEzek 40:16porches were toward the outer court; and AEzek 40:16palm tree ornaments were on its side pillars, on each side, and its stairway had eight BEzek 40:22, 37steps.

35 Then he brought me to the AEzek 40:27, 32; 44:4; 47:2north gate; and he measured it according to those same measurements, 36 with its AEzek 40:7, 29guardrooms, its side pillars and its BEzek 40:16porches. And 1Lit itthe gate had BEzek 40:16windows all around; the length was CEzek 40:21fifty cubits and the width twenty-five cubits. 37 Its side pillars were toward the outer court; and AEzek 40:16palm tree ornaments were on its side pillars on each side, and its stairway had eight BEzek 40:34steps.

38 A A1 Chr 28:12; Neh 13:5, 9; Jer 35:4; 36:10; Ezek 40:17; 41:10; 42:13chamber with its doorway was by the side pillars at the gates; there they B2 Chr 4:6rinse the burnt offering. 39 In the porch of the gate were two AEzek 40:42tables on each side, on which to slaughter the BLev 1:3-17; Ezek 46:2burnt offering, the sin offering and the guilt offering. 40 On the outer 1Lit shoulderside, 2Lit to the one going upas one went up to the 3Lit entrance of the gategateway toward the north, were two tables; and on the other 1Lit shoulderside of the porch of the gate were two tables. 41 Four AEzek 40:39, 40tables were on each side 1Lit by the shoulder ofnext to the gate; or, eight tables on which they slaughter sacrifices. 42 For the burnt offering there were four AEzek 40:39tables of BEx 20:25hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, a cubit and a half wide and one cubit high, on which they lay the instruments with which they slaughter the AEzek 40:39burnt offering and the sacrifice. 43 The double 1Or ledgeshooks, one handbreadth in length, were installed 2Or insidein the house all around; and on the tables was the flesh of the offering.

44 From the outside to the AEzek 40:23, 27inner gate were 1Gr reads in two chambersBEzek 40:17, 38chambers for the C1 Chr 6:31, 32; 16:41-43; 25:1-7singers in the inner court, one of which was at the 2Lit shoulderside of the north gate, with 3Lit theirits front toward the south, and one at the 2Lit shoulderside of the 4So Gr; Heb reads eastsouth gate facing toward the north. 45 He said to me, “This is the AEzek 40:17, 38chamber which faces toward the south, intended for the priests who B1 Chr 9:23; Ps 134:1keep charge of the 1Or housetemple; 46 but the AEzek 40:17, 38chamber which faces toward the north is for the priests who BLev 6:12, 13; Ezek 44:15keep charge of the altar. These are the C1 Kin 2:35; Ezek 43:19; 48:11sons of Zadok, who from the sons of Levi DLev 10:3; Num 16:5, 40; Ezek 42:13; 45:4come near to the Loʀᴅ to minister to Him.” 47 He measured the court, a perfect square, a AEzek 40:19, 23, 27hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide; and the altar was in front of the 1Lit housetemple.

48 Then he brought me to the A1 Kin 6:3; 2 Chr 3:4porch of the 1Lit housetemple and measured each side pillar of the porch, five cubits on each side; and the width of the gate was three cubits on each side. 49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits and the width eleven cubits; and at the AEzek 40:31, 34, 37stairway by which it was ascended were B1 Kin 7:15-22; 2 Chr 3:17; Jer 52:17-23; Rev 3:12columns belonging to the side pillars, one on each side.
