1 Then he led me to the AEzek 10:19; 40:6; 42:15; 43:4; 44:1; 46:1gate, the gate facing toward the east; 2 and behold, the AIs 6:3; Ezek 1:28; 3:23; 10:18, 19glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the BEzek 11:23east. And His CEzek 1:24; Rev 1:15; 14:2voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth DEzek 1:28; 10:4; Rev 18:1shone with His glory. 3 And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the AEzek 1:4-28vision which I saw when 1So with some mss and some ancient versions; M.T. IHe came to BJer 1:10; Ezek 9:1, 5; 32:18destroy the city. And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the CEzek 1:3; 10:20river Chebar; and I DEzek 1:28; 3:23fell on my face. 4 And the glory of the Loʀᴅ came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the AEzek 10:19; 11:23; 43:2east. 5 And the AEzek 3:14; 8:3; 11:1, 24; 2 Cor 12:2-4Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the BEzek 10:4glory of the Loʀᴅ filled the house.

6 Then I heard one speaking to me from the house, while a AEzek 1:26; 40:3man was standing beside me. 7 He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My APs 47:8; Ezek 1:26throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will BEzek 37:26, 28dwell among the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry and by the 1Or monuments as in UgariticCLev 26:30; Ezek 6:5, 13corpses of their kings 2Or in their high placeswhen they die, 8 by setting their threshold by My threshold and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have AEzek 8:3, 16defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have committed. So I have consumed them in My anger. 9  “Now let them AEzek 18:30, 31put away their harlotry and the 1Or monuments as in Ugariticcorpses of their kings far from Me; and I will BEzek 37:26-28; 43:7dwell among them forever.

10 “As for you, son of man, 1Lit declareAEzek 40:4describe the 2Lit housetemple to the house of Israel, that they may be BEzek 16:61, 63; 43:11ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the 3Lit perfection or patternCEzek 28:12plan. 11  “If they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the 1Or form(s)design of the house, its structure, its AEzek 44:5exits, its entrances, all its designs, all its statutes2M.T. repeats and all its designs after statutes, and all its laws. And write it BEzek 12:3in their sight, so that they may observe its whole 1Or form(s)design and all its statutes and CEzek 11:20; 36:27do them. 12  “This is the 1Or instruction forlaw of the house: its entire 2Lit borderarea on the top of the AEzek 40:2mountain all around shall be most holy. Behold, this is the 1Or instruction forlaw of the house.

13 “And these are the measurements of the AEx 27:1-8; 2 Chr 4:1altar by cubits (the BEzek 40:5; 41:8cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth): the 1Lit lapbase shall be a cubit and the width a cubit, and its border on its edge round about one span; and this shall be the height of the 2Or backbase of the altar. 14  “From the base on the ground to the lower AEzek 43:17, 20; 45:19ledge shall be two cubits and the width one cubit; and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge shall be four cubits and the width 1Lit theone cubit. 15  “The 1Or ariel shallaltar hearth shall be four cubits; and from the 1Or ariel shallaltar hearth shall extend upwards four AEx 27:2; Lev 9:9; 1 Kin 1:50; Ps 118:27horns. 16  “Now the 1Or ariel shallaltar hearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelve wide, AEx 27:1square in its four sides. 17  “The ledge shall be fourteen cubits long by fourteen wide in its four sides, the border around it shall be half a cubit and its base shall be a cubit round about; and its AEx 20:26steps shall 1Or be on the east sideBEzek 40:6face the east.”

18 And He said to me, “AEzek 2:1Son of man, thus says the Lord 1Heb YHWH, usually rendered Loʀᴅ, and so throughout the chGoᴅ, ‘These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is built, to offer BEx 40:29burnt offerings on it and to CLev 1:5, 11; Heb 9:21, 22sprinkle blood on it. 19  ‘You shall give to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of A1 Kin 2:35; Ezek 40:46; 44:15Zadok, who draw BNum 16:5, 40near to Me to minister to Me,’ declares the Lord Goᴅ, ‘a CLev 4:3; Ezek 43:23; 45:18young bull for a DEzek 45:19; Heb 7:27sin offering. 20  ‘You shall take some of its blood and put it on its four ALev 8:15; 9:9; Ezek 43:15horns and on the four corners of the BEzek 43:14, 17ledge and on the border round about; thus you shall CLev 16:19; Ezek 43:22, 26cleanse it and make atonement for it. 21  ‘You shall also take the bull for the sin offering, and it shall be AEx 29:14; Lev 4:12; Heb 13:11burned in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.

22 ‘On the second day you shall offer a AEzek 43:25male goat without blemish for a sin offering, and they shall BEzek 43:20, 26cleanse the altar as they cleansed it with the bull. 23  ‘When you have finished cleansing it, you shall present a AEx 29:1, 10; Ezek 45:18young bull without blemish and a BEx 29:1ram without blemish from the flock. 24  ‘You shall present them before the Loʀᴅ, and the priests shall throw ALev 2:13; Num 18:19; Mark 9:49, 50; Col 4:6salt on them, and they shall offer them up as a burnt offering to the Loʀᴅ. 25  ‘AEx 29:35-37; Lev 8:33, 35For seven days you shall prepare daily a goat for a sin offering; also a young bull and a ram from the flock, without blemish, shall be prepared. 26  ‘For seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they 1Lit fill its handsconsecrate it. 27  ‘When they have completed the days, it shall be that on the ALev 9:1eighth day and onward, the priests shall 1Lit makeoffer your burnt offerings on the altar, and your BLev 3:1; 17:5peace offerings; and I will CEzek 20:40accept you,’ declares the Lord Goᴅ.”
