The Changeless Christ
Let ARom 12:10; 1 Thess 4:9; 1 Pet 1:22love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to AMatt 25:35; Rom 12:13; 1 Pet 4:9show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have BGen 18:1ff; 19:1fentertained angels without knowing it. ACol 4:18Remember BMatt 25:36; Heb 10:34the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. A1 Cor 7:38; 1 Tim 4:3Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; B1 Cor 6:9; Gal 5:19, 21; 1 Thess 4:6for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Make sure that your character is AEph 5:3; Col 3:5; 1 Tim 3:3free from the love of money, BPhil 4:11being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “CDeut 31:6, 8; Josh 1:5I wɪʟʟ ɴᴇvᴇʀ ᴅᴇsᴇʀᴛ ʏoᴜ, ɴoʀ wɪʟʟ I ᴇvᴇʀ ꜰoʀsᴀᴋᴇ ʏoᴜ,” so that we confidently say,
APs 118:6Tʜᴇ Loʀᴅ ɪs ᴍʏ ʜᴇʟᴘᴇʀ, I wɪʟʟ ɴoᴛ ʙᴇ ᴀꜰʀᴀɪᴅ.
Wʜᴀᴛ wɪʟʟ ᴍᴀɴ ᴅo ᴛo ᴍᴇ?”
Remember AHeb 13:17, 24those who led you, who spoke BLuke 5:1the word of God to you; and considering the 1Or end of their liferesult of their conduct, CHeb 6:12imitate their faith. A2 Cor 1:19; Heb 1:12Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. AEph 4:14; 5:6; Jude 12Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to B2 Cor 1:21; Col 2:7be strengthened by grace, not by CCol 2:16foods, DHeb 9:10through which those who 1Lit walkedwere so occupied were not benefited. 10 We have an altar A1 Cor 10:18from which those BHeb 8:5who serve the 1Or sacred tenttabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For AEx 29:14; Lev 4:12, 21; 9:11; 16:27; Num 19:3, 7the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, AEph 5:26; Heb 2:11that He might sanctify the people BHeb 9:12through His own blood, suffered CJohn 19:17outside the gate. 13 So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, ALuke 9:23; Heb 11:26; 12:2bearing His reproach. 14 For here AHeb 10:34; 12:27we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking BEph 2:19; Heb 2:5; 11:10, 16; 12:22the city which is to come.
God-pleasing Sacrifices
15 A1 Pet 2:5Through Him then, let us continually offer up a BLev 7:12sacrifice of praise to God, that is, CIs 57:19; Hos 14:2the fruit of lips that 1Lit confessgive thanks to His name. 16 And do not neglect doing good and ARom 12:13sharing, for BPhil 4:18with such sacrifices God is pleased.
17 A1 Cor 16:16; Heb 13:7, 24Obey your leaders and submit to them, for BIs 62:6; Ezek 3:17; Acts 20:28they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. 1Lit in order that they may do thisLet them do this with joy and not 2Lit groaningwith grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
18 A1 Thess 5:25Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a BActs 24:16; 1 Tim 1:5good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things. 19 And I urge you all the more to do this, APhilem 22so that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Benediction
20 Now ARom 15:33the God of peace, who BActs 2:24; Rom 10:7brought up from the dead the CIs 63:11; John 10:11; 1 Pet 2:25great Shepherd of the sheep 1Lit inthrough DZech 9:11; Heb 10:29the blood of the EIs 55:3; Jer 32:40; Ezek 37:26eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, 21 A1 Pet 5:10equip you in every good thing to do His will, BPhil 2:13working in us that CHeb 12:28; 1 John 3:22which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, DRom 11:36to whom be the glory forever and ever.
