Isaiah’s Vision
1 In the year of A2 Kin 15:7; 2 Chr 26:23; Is 1:1King Uzziah’s death BJohn 12:41; Rev 4:2, 3; 20:11I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, ARev 4:8each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said,
“ARev 4:8Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Loʀᴅ of hosts,
The 1Lit fullness of the whole earth is His gloryBNum 14:21; Ps 72:19whole earth is full of His glory.”
4 And the 1Lit door socketsfoundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the 2Lit houseARev 15:8temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said,
“AEx 33:20; Luke 5:8Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of BEx 6:12, 30unclean lips,
And I live among a CIs 59:3; Jer 9:3-8people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the DJer 51:57King, the Loʀᴅ of hosts.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the ARev 8:3altar with tongs. 7 He AJer 1:9; Dan 10:16touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and BIs 40:2; 53:5, 6, 11; 1 John 1:7your iniquity is taken away and your sin is 1Lit atoned forforgiven.”

8 Then I heard the AEzek 10:5; Acts 9:4voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then BActs 26:19I said, “Here am I. Send me!” 9 He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on AIs 43:8; Matt 13:14; Mark 4:12; Luke 8:10; John 12:40; Acts 28:26; Rom 11:8listening, but do not perceive;
Keep on looking, but do not understand.’
Their ears 2Lit heavydull,
And their eyes 3Lit besmeareddim,
CJer 5:21Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed.”
11 Then I said, “Lord, APs 79:5how long?” And He answered,
“Until BLev 26:31; Is 1:7; 3:8, 26cities are devastated and without inhabitant,
Houses are without people
And the land is utterly desolate,
12 “The Loʀᴅ has ADeut 28:64removed men far away,
And the 1Or forsakenness will be greatBJer 4:29forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 “Yet there will be a tenth portion in it,
And it will again be subject to burning,
Like a terebinth or an AJob 14:7oak
Whose stump remains when it is felled.
