1 When the Lamb broke the ARev 5:1; 6:1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 And I saw ARev 1:4; 8:6-13; 9:1, 13; 11:15the seven angels who stand before God, and seven B1 Cor 15:52; 1 Thess 4:16trumpets were given to them.

3 ARev 7:2Another angel came and stood at the BAmos 9:1; Rev 6:9altar, holding a CHeb 9:4golden censer; and much DEx 30:1; Rev 5:8incense was given to him, so that he might 1Lit giveadd it to the DEx 30:1; Rev 5:8prayers of all the 2Or holy onessaints on the EEx 30:3; Num 4:11; Rev 8:5; 9:13golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And APs 141:2the smoke of the incense, 1Or forwith the prayers of the 2V 3, note 2saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel 1Lit has takentook the censer and ALev 16:12filled it with the fire of the altar, and BEzek 10:2threw it to the earth; and there followed CEx 19:16; Rev 4:5; 11:19; 16:18peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an DRev 6:12earthquake.

6 ARev 8:2And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.

7 The first sounded, and there came AEx 9:23ff; Is 28:2; Ezek 38:22; Joel 2:30hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and BZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4a third of the earth was burned up, and BZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4a third of the CRev 9:4trees were burned up, and all the green CRev 9:4grass was burned up.

8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great AJer 51:25mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and BZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4a third of the CEx 7:17ff; Rev 11:6; 16:3sea became blood, 9 and AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4a third of the creatures which were in the sea 1Lit the ones havingand had life, died; and a third of the BIs 2:16ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel sounded, and a great star AIs 14:12; Rev 6:13; 9:1fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a BZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of the rivers and on the CRev 14:7; 16:4springs of waters. 11 The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of the waters became BJer 9:15; 23:15wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 The fourth angel sounded, and a AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of the BEx 10:21ff; Is 13:10; Ezek 32:7; Joel 2:10, 31; 3:15; Rev 6:12fsun and a third of the BEx 10:21ff; Is 13:10; Ezek 32:7; Joel 2:10, 31; 3:15; Rev 6:12fmoon and a AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of the BEx 10:21ff; Is 13:10; Ezek 32:7; Joel 2:10, 31; 3:15; Rev 6:12fstars were struck, so that a AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a AZech 13:8, 9; Rev 8:7-12; 9:15, 18; 12:4third of it, and the night in the same way.

13 Then I looked, and I heard 1Lit one eaglean eagle flying in ARev 14:6; 19:17midheaven, saying with a loud voice, “BRev 9:12; 11:14; 12:12Woe, woe, woe to CRev 3:10those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the DRev 8:2three angels who are about to sound!”
