God’s Universal Reign

3 And many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Loʀᴅ,
To the house of the God of Jacob;

And that we may walk in His paths.”

And the word of the Loʀᴅ from Jerusalem.
4 And He will judge between the nations,
And will 1Or reprove manyrender decisions for many peoples;

And never again will they learn war.

6 For You have ADeut 31:17abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with influences from the east,
And they are soothsayers B2 Kin 1:2like the Philistines,
And they C2 Kin 16:7, 8; Prov 6:1strike bargains with the children of foreigners.
7 Their land has also been filled with silver and gold
And there is no end to their treasures;
Their land has also been filled with ADeut 17:16; Is 30:16; 31:1; Mic 5:10horses
And there is no end to their chariots.
8 Their land has also been AIs 10:11filled with idols;
They worship the BPs 115:4-8; Is 17:8; 37:19; 40:19; 44:17work of their hands,
That which their fingers have made.
And the man of importance has been abased,
But BNeh 4:5do not forgive them.

A Day of Reckoning Coming
12 For the Loʀᴅ of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Against AJob 40:11, 12; Is 24:4, 21; Mal 4:1everyone who is proud and lofty
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be abased.
13 And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up,
Against all the AZech 11:2oaks of Bashan,
14 Against all the AIs 40:4lofty mountains,
Against all the hills that are lifted up,
15 Against every AIs 25:12high tower,
Against every fortified wall,
16 Against all the A1 Kin 10:22; Is 23:1, 14; 60:9ships of Tarshish
And against all the beautiful craft.
17 The pride of man will be humbled
And the loftiness of men will be abased;
And the Loʀᴅ alone will be exalted in that day,
18 But the AIs 21:9; Mic 1:7idols will completely vanish.
And into holes of the 1Lit dustground
Before the terror of the Loʀᴅ
And the splendor of His majesty,

Their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
Which they made for themselves to worship,

When He arises to make the earth tremble.
