Indeed, the Loʀᴅ who has BZech 2:12chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a CAmos 4:11; Jude 23brand plucked from the fire?” 3 Now Joshua was clothed with AEzra 9:15; Is 4:4; 64:6filthy garments and standing before the angel. 4 He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, “AIs 43:25; Ezek 36:25Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have BMic 7:18, 19; Zech 3:9taken your iniquity away from you and 1Lit to clothewill CIs 52:1; 61:10clothe you with festal robes.” 5 Then I said, “Let them put a clean AJob 29:14; Is 3:23turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the Loʀᴅ was standing by.

6 And the angel of the Loʀᴅ admonished Joshua, saying, 7 “Thus says the Loʀᴅ of hosts, ‘If you will A1 Kin 3:14walk in My ways and if you will perform My service, then you will also BDeut 17:9, 12govern My house and also have charge of My CIs 62:9courts, and I will grant you 1Lit goingsfree access among these who are standing here.

8  ‘Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you—indeed they are men who are a AIs 8:18; 20:3; Ezek 12:11symbol, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the 1Lit SproutBIs 11:1; 53:2; Jer 23:5; 33:15; Zech 6:12Branch. 9  ‘For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are AZech 4:10seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares the Loʀᴅ of hosts, ‘and I will BJer 31:34; 50:20; Zech 3:4remove the iniquity of that land in one day. 10 ‘In that day,’ declares the Loʀᴅ of hosts, ‘every one of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his A1 Kin 4:25; Is 36:16; Mic 4:4vine and under his fig tree.’ ”
