Hezekiah Healed
A2 Kin 20:1-6, 9-11; 2 Chr 32:24; Is 38:1-8In those days Hezekiah became 1Lit sick to the point of deathmortally ill. And BIs 1:1; 37:2Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Loʀᴅ, ‘C2 Sam 17:23Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ” Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Loʀᴅ, and said, “ANeh 13:14Remember now, O Loʀᴅ, I beseech You, how I have B2 Kin 18:5, 6; Ps 26:3walked before You in truth and with a C1 Chr 28:9; 29:19whole heart, and DDeut 6:18have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah EPs 6:6-8wept 1Lit great weepingbitterly.
Then the word of the Loʀᴅ came to Isaiah, saying, “Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Loʀᴅ, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add A2 Kin 18:2, 13fifteen years to your 1Lit dayslife.  “I will AIs 31:5; 37:35deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city.” ’
“This shall be the AJudg 6:17, 21, 36-40; Is 7:11, 14; 37:30sign to you from the Loʀᴅ, that the Loʀᴅ will do this thing that He has spoken:  “Behold, I will A2 Kin 20:9-11cause the shadow on the stairway, which has gone down with the sun on the stairway of Ahaz, to go back ten steps.” So the BJosh 10:12-14sun’s shadow went back ten steps on the stairway on which it had gone down.
