Chaldeans Used to Punish Judah
2 APs 13:1, 2; 22:1, 2How long, O Loʀᴅ, will I call for help,
And You will not hear?
I cry out to You, “Violence!”
Yet You do BJer 14:9not save.
3 Why do You make me APs 55:9-11; Jer 20:18see iniquity,
And cause me to look on wickedness?
Yes, BJer 20:8destruction and violence are before me;
CJer 15:10Strife exists and contention arises.
And justice 2Lit never goes forthis never upheld.
For the wicked BPs 22:12; Is 1:21-23surround the righteous;
Therefore justice comes out CIs 5:20; Ezek 9:9perverted.
5 “AActs 13:41Look among the nations! Observe!
Be astonished! BIs 29:9Wonder!
Because I am doing CIs 29:14; Ezek 12:22-28something in your days—
You would not believe if 1Lit ityou were told.
6 “For behold, I am A2 Kin 24:2; Jer 4:11-13raising up the Chaldeans,

They collect captives like sand.
10 “They A2 Chr 36:6, 10; Is 37:13mock at kings
And rulers are a laughing matter to them.
They BIs 10:9; 14:16laugh at every fortress
And CJer 32:24; Ezek 26:8heap up rubble to capture it.
But they will be held BJer 2:3guilty,
They whose CDan 4:30; Hab 1:16strength is their god.”
12 Are You not from ADeut 33:27; Ps 90:2; Mal 3:6everlasting,
O Loʀᴅ, my God, my Holy One?
We will not die.
You, O Loʀᴅ, have BIs 10:5, 6; Mal 3:5appointed them to judge;
And You, O CDeut 32:4Rock, have established them to correct.
And You can not look on wickedness with favor.
Why do You BJer 12:1, 2look with favor
On those who deal CIs 24:16treacherously?
Those more righteous than they?
14 Why have You made men like the fish of the sea,
Like creeping things without a ruler over them?
BPs 10:9Drag them away with their net,
And gather them together in their fishing net.
Therefore they rejoice and are glad.
16 Therefore they offer a sacrifice to their net
And 1Or sacrificeburn incense to their fishing net;
And their food is 4Lit the fat portionplentiful.
17 Will they therefore empty their AIs 19:8net
And continually BIs 14:5, 6slay nations without sparing?
