4 “Even if I have truly erred,

5 “If indeed you APs 35:26; 38:16; 55:12, 13vaunt yourselves against me
And prove my disgrace to me,
6 Know then that AJob 16:11; 27:2God has wronged me
And has closed BJob 18:8-10; Ps 66:11; Lam 1:13His net around me.
Everything Is against Him
7 “Behold, AJob 9:24; 30:20, 24; Hab 1:2I cry, ‘Violence!’ but I get no answer;
I shout for help, but there is no justice.
8 “He has AJob 3:23; Lam 3:7, 9walled up my way so that I cannot pass,
And He has put BJob 30:26darkness on my paths.
9 “He has AJob 12:17, 19; Ps 89:44stripped my honor from me
And removed the BJob 16:15; Ps 89:39; Lam 5:16crown from my head.
10 “He AJob 12:14breaks me down on every side, and I am gone;
And He has uprooted my BJob 7:6hope CJob 24:20like a tree.
11 “He has also AJob 16:9kindled His anger against me

And my BJob 16:20; Ps 88:8, 18acquaintances are completely estranged from me.
14 “My relatives have failed,
And my AJob 19:19intimate friends have forgotten me.
15 “Those who live in my house and my maids consider me a stranger.

20 “My AJob 16:8; 33:21; Ps 102:5; Lam 4:8bone clings to my skin and my flesh,
And I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth.
21 “Pity me, pity me, O you my friends,
For the AJob 1:11; Ps 38:2hand of God has struck me.
And are not satisfied with my flesh?
