Job Chides His Accusers
1 Then Job 1Lit answered and saidresponded,
2 “Truly then AJob 17:10you are the people,
And with you wisdom will die!
3 “But AJob 13:2I have intelligence as well as you;
I am not inferior to you.
And 1Lit with whom is there not like these?who does not know such things as these?
The one who called on God and He answered him;
5 “1Lit Contempt for calamity is the thought of him who is at easeHe who is at ease holds calamity in contempt,
As prepared for those whose feet slip.

And those who provoke God BJob 24:23are secure,

7 “But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you;

And binds their loins with a girdle.

20 “He deprives the trusted ones of speech
And AJob 17:4; 32:9takes away the discernment of the elders.

And BJob 12:18loosens the belt of the strong.
22 “He ADan 2:22; 1 Cor 4:5reveals mysteries from the darkness
And brings the deep darkness into light.

And makes them wander in a pathless waste.
