Zophar Rebukes Job
Then Zophar the Naamathite 1Lit answered and saidanswered,
“Shall a multitude of words go unanswered,
And a AJob 8:2; 15:2; 18:2talkative man be acquitted?
“Shall your boasts silence men?
And shall you AJob 17:2; 21:3scoff and none rebuke?
“For AJob 6:10you have said, ‘My teaching is pure,
And BJob 10:7I am innocent in your eyes.’
“But would that God might speak,
And open His lips against you,
And show you the secrets of wisdom!
For sound wisdom 1Lit is doubleAJob 9:4has two sides.
Know then that God 2Lit causes to be forgotten for youforgets a part of BJob 15:5; 22:5your iniquity.
