Wisdom’s Invitation
1 Wisdom has A1 Cor 3:9, 10; Eph 2:20-22; 1 Pet 2:5built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;

And drink of the wine I have mixed.

And he who reproves a wicked man gets 1Lit a blemishinsults for himself.

9 Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser,

And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

14 She sits at the doorway of her house,

15 Calling to those who pass by,
Who are making their paths straight:
And to him who lacks 2Lit heartunderstanding she says,
17 “Stolen water is sweet;
And AProv 20:17bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
18 But he does not know that the 1Lit departed spiritsdead are there,
That her guests are in the AProv 7:27depths of Sheol.
