For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
The Loʀᴅ will deliver him BPs 27:5; 37:19in a day of 2Or eviltrouble.
2 The Loʀᴅ will APs 37:28protect him and keep him alive,
And he shall 1Or be blessedbe called BPs 37:22blessed upon the earth;
And CPs 27:12do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
3 The Loʀᴅ will sustain him upon his sickbed;
In his illness, You 1Lit turn all his bedrestore him to health.
4 As for me, I said, “O Loʀᴅ, be gracious to me;
APs 6:2; 103:3; 147:3Heal my soul, for BPs 51:4I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies APs 38:12speak evil against me,

6 And 1Or if hewhen he comes to see me, he APs 12:2; 62:4; Prov 26:24-26speaks 2Or emptinessfalsehood;
His heart gathers wickedness to itself;
When he goes outside, he tells it.
7 All who hate me whisper together against me;
Against me they APs 56:5devise my hurt, saying,
8 “A wicked thing is poured out 1Or withinupon him,
That when he lies down, he will APs 71:10, 11not rise up again.”
9 Even my A2 Sam 15:12; Job 19:13, 19; Ps 55:12, 13, 20; Jer 20:10; Mic 7:5; Matt 26:23; Luke 22:21; John 13:18close friend in whom I trusted,
Who ate my bread,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
10 But You, O Loʀᴅ, be gracious to me and APs 3:3raise me up,
That I may repay them.
11 By this I know that APs 37:23; 147:11You are pleased with me,
Because BPs 25:2my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
12 As for me, APs 18:32; 37:17; 63:8You uphold me in my integrity,
