1 “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, ADeut 11:26; 30:15, 19the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you 1Lit cause them to return to your heartcall them to mind BLev 26:40-45; Deut 28:64; 29:28; 1 Kin 8:47in all nations where the Loʀᴅ your God has banished you, 2 and you ADeut 4:29, 30; Neh 1:9return to the Loʀᴅ your God and 1Lit listen to His voiceobey Him BDeut 4:29with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, 3 then the Loʀᴅ your God will AGen 28:15; 48:21; Ps 126:1, 4; Jer 29:14restore 1Lit your captivityyou from captivity, and have compassion on you, and BPs 147:2; Jer 32:37; Ezek 34:13will gather you again from all the peoples where the Loʀᴅ your God has CDeut 4:27scattered you. 4  “If your outcasts are at the ends of the 1Lit skyearth, ANeh 1:9; Is 43:6; 48:20; 62:11from there the Loʀᴅ your God will gather you, and from there He will 2Lit take youbring you back. 5  “AJer 29:14; 30:3The Loʀᴅ your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and BDeut 7:13; 13:17multiply you more than your fathers.

6 “Moreover ADeut 10:16the Loʀᴅ your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your 1Lit seeddescendants, BDeut 6:5to love the Loʀᴅ your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. 7  “ADeut 7:15The Loʀᴅ your God will 1Lit putinflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8  “And you shall again 1Lit listen to the voice ofobey the Loʀᴅ, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. 9  “AJer 31:27, 28Then the Loʀᴅ your God will 1Lit make you have excess for goodprosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the 2Lit fruitoffspring of your 3Lit wombbody and in the 2Lit fruitoffspring of your cattle and in the 2Lit fruitproduce of your ground, for BJer 32:41the Loʀᴅ will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; 10 1Or for you willif you 2Lit listen to the voice ofobey the Loʀᴅ your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which ADeut 29:21are written in this book of the law, 1Or for you willif you turn to the Loʀᴅ your God BDeut 4:29with all your heart and soul.

11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it 1Lit far offout of reach. 12  “It is not in heaven, 1Lit to saythat you should say, ‘ARom 10:6-8Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 13  “Nor is it beyond the sea, 1Lit to saythat you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 14  “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.

15 “See, ADeut 11:26I have set before you today life and 1Lit goodprosperity, and death and 2Lit eviladversity; 16 in that I command you today ADeut 6:5to love the Loʀᴅ your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you BDeut 4:1; 30:19may live and multiply, and that the Loʀᴅ your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17  “But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that ADeut 4:26; 8:19you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter 1Lit toand possess it. 19  “ADeut 4:26I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, BDeut 30:1the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your 1Lit seeddescendants, 20 ADeut 6:5by loving the Loʀᴅ your God, by obeying His voice, and BDeut 10:20by holding fast to Him; CDeut 4:1; 32:47; Acts 17:25, 28for 1Lit thatthis is your life and the length of your days, 2Lit to dwellthat you may live in DGen 12:7; 17:1-8the land which the Loʀᴅ swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
