1 I saw another ARev 5:2strong angel BRev 18:1; 20:1coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the CRev 4:3rainbow was upon his head, and DMatt 17:2; Rev 1:16his face was like the sun, and his ERev 1:15feet like pillars of fire; 2 and he had in his hand a ARev 5:1; 10:8-10little book which was open. He placed BRev 10:5, 8his right foot on the sea and his left on the land; 3 and he cried out with a loud voice, AIs 31:4; Hos 11:10as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the BPs 29:3-9; Rev 4:5seven peals of thunder 1Or spokeuttered their voices. 4 When the seven peals of thunder had spoken, ARev 1:11, 19I was about to write; and I BRev 10:8heard a voice from heaven saying, “CDan 8:26; 12:4, 9; Rev 22:10Seal up the things which the seven peals of thunder have spoken and do not write them.” 5 Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land ADeut 32:40; Dan 12:7lifted up his right hand to heaven, 6 AGen 14:22; Ex 6:8; Num 14:30; Ezek 20:5and swore by BRev 4:9Him who lives forever and ever, CEx 20:11; Rev 4:11wʜo cʀᴇᴀᴛᴇᴅ ʜᴇᴀvᴇɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪɴ ɪᴛ, ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇᴀʀᴛʜ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪɴ ɪᴛ, ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ sᴇᴀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪɴ ɪᴛ, that DRev 6:11; 12:12; 16:17; 21:6there will be delay no longer, 7 but in the days of the voice of the ARev 11:15seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then BAmos 3:7; Rom 16:25the mystery of God is finished, as He 1Lit preached the gospelpreached to His servants the prophets.

8 Then ARev 10:4the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take BRev 10:2the 1Or scrollbook which is open in the hand of the angel who BRev 10:2stands on the sea and on the land.” 9 So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he *said to me, “AJer 15:16; Ezek 2:8; 3:1-3Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” 10 I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. 11 And ARev 11:1they *said to me, “You must BEzek 37:4, 9prophesy again concerning CRev 5:9many peoples and nations and tongues and DRev 17:10, 12kings.”
