Ephraim’s Iniquity
1 When I AEzek 24:13; Hos 6:4; 7:13; 11:8would heal Israel,
The iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered,
And the evil deeds of Samaria,
For they deal BHos 4:2falsely;
The thief enters in,
CHos 6:9Bandits raid outside,
2 And they do not 1Lit say to their heartconsider in their hearts
That I APs 25:7; Jer 14:10; 17:1; Hos 8:13; 9:9; Amos 8:7remember all their wickedness.
Now their BJer 2:19; 4:18; Hos 4:9deeds are all around them;
They are before My face.
And the princes with their CHos 4:2; 11:12lies.
4 They are AJer 9:2; 23:10all adulterers,
Like an oven heated by the baker
Who ceases to stir up the fire
From the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.
5 On the 1I.e. a festive occasionday of our king, the princes AIs 28:1, 7became sick with the heat of wine;
He stretched out his hand with BIs 28:14scoffers,

7 All of them are hot like an oven,
And they consume their AHos 13:10rulers;
All their kings have fallen.
BIs 64:7None of them calls on Me.
Ephraim has become a cake not turned.
9 AIs 1:7; Hos 8:7Strangers devour his strength,
Yet he BHos 4:6does not know it;
Gray hairs also are sprinkled on him,
Yet he does not know it.
10 Though the AHos 5:5pride of Israel testifies against him,
Yet BIs 9:13they have not returned to the Loʀᴅ their God,
Nor have they sought Him, for all this.
They call to CHos 8:13; 9:3, 6Egypt, they go to DHos 5:13; 8:9; 12:1Assyria.
12 When they go, I will AEzek 12:13spread My net over them;
I will bring them down like the birds of the sky.
I will BLev 26:14-39; Deut 28:15chastise them in accordance with the 1Lit reportproclamation to their assembly.
Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me!
I CJer 51:9; Hos 7:1; Matt 23:37would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me.
14 And AJob 35:9-11; Hos 8:2; Zech 7:5they do not cry to Me from their heart
When they wail on their beds;

They are like a APs 78:57deceitful bow;
Their princes will fall by the sword
