1 Then I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying AJer 36:2; Ezek 2:9; Rev 5:1scroll. 2 And he said to me, “AZech 4:2What do you see?” And I answered, “I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty 1I.e. One cubit equals approx 18 in.cubits and its width ten cubits.” 3 Then he said to me, “This is the AIs 24:6; 43:28; Jer 26:6curse that is going forth over the face of the whole 1Or earthland; surely everyone who BEx 20:15; Lev 19:11; Mal 3:8, 9steals will be purged away according to 2Lit itthe writing on one side, and everyone who CLev 19:12; Is 48:1; Jer 5:2; Zech 5:4swears will be purged away according to 2Lit itthe writing on the other side. 4  “I will AMal 3:5make it go forth,” declares the Loʀᴅ of hosts, “and it will BHos 4:2, 3enter the house of the CJer 2:26thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and DLev 14:34, 35; Job 18:15consume it with its timber and stones.”

5 Then AZech 1:9the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.” 6 I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the 1I.e. Approx one buALev 19:36; Amos 8:5ephah going forth.” Again he said, “This is their 2Lit eye; some ancient versions read iniquityappearance in all the 3Or earthland 7 (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah.” 8 Then he said, “This is AHos 12:7; Amos 8:5; Mic 6:11Wickedness!” And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its 1Lit mouthopening. 9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a ALev 11:13, 19; Ps 104:17; Jer 8:7stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. 10 I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?” 11 Then he said to me, “To build a 1Lit housetemple for her in the land of AGen 10:10; 11:2; 14:1; Is 11:11; Dan 1:2Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal.”
