Idolatry Forbidden
Then the Loʀᴅ spoke to Moses, saying:
“Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘AEx 19:6; Lev 11:44; 20:7, 26; Eph 1:4; 1 Pet 1:16You shall be holy, for I the Loʀᴅ your God am holy.  ‘Every one of you AEx 20:12; 31:13; Deut 5:16shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep BEx 20:8My sabbaths; CLev 11:44I am the Loʀᴅ your God.  ‘Do not turn to ALev 26:1; Ps 96:5; 115:4-7idols or make for yourselves molten BEx 20:23; 34:17gods; I am the Loʀᴅ your God.
‘Now when you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Loʀᴅ, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.  ‘It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and the next day; but what remains until the third day shall be burned with fire.  ‘So if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an offense; it will not be accepted.  ‘Everyone who eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has profaned the holy thing of the Loʀᴅ; and that person shall be cut off from his people.
