Thus declares the Loʀᴅ who AIs 42:5; 44:24; Jer 51:15stretches out the heavens, BJob 26:7; Ps 102:25, 26; Heb 1:10-12lays the foundation of the earth, and CIs 57:16; Heb 12:9forms the spirit of man within him, 2 “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a APs 75:8; Is 51:22, 23cup 1Lit of reelingthat causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against BZech 14:14Judah. 3  “It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy ADan 2:34, 35, 44, 45stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be BMatt 21:44severely 1Lit scratchedinjured. And all the CZech 14:2nations of the earth will be gathered against it. 4  “In that day,” declares the Loʀᴅ, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will 1Lit open My eyeswatch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5  “Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘1Lit My strength isA strong support for us are the inhabitants of Jerusalem through the Loʀᴅ of hosts, their God.’

6 “In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a AIs 10:17, 18; Obad 18; Zech 11:1firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the BZech 2:4; 8:3-5inhabitants of Jerusalem again dwell on their own sites in Jerusalem. 7  “The Loʀᴅ also will AJer 30:18save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of BAmos 9:11David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem will not be magnified above Judah. 8  “In that day the Loʀᴅ will AJoel 3:16; Zech 9:14, 15defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who 1Or stumblesBLev 26:8; Josh 23:10; Mic 7:8is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like CPs 8:5; 82:6God, like the DEx 14:19; 33:2angel of the Loʀᴅ before them. 9  “And in that day I will 1Lit seek toAZech 14:2, 3set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
